As part of her honours degree, Emma studied composition under Peter Nelson and Stuart Macrae. She wrote for various ensembles during her degree including Edinburgh University Composer’s Orchestra and Edinburgh University String Orchestra. In November 2012, her composition Arthur’s Seat was performed by Edinburgh University Chamber Orchestra as part of their tour to Invergarry.
